Blackberry Simple Syrup
  • 1/2 Cup Driscoll’s Blackberries
  • 1/3 Cup water
  • 1/3 Cup sugar
Ginger Juice
  • 1 1/2 - 2 Tbsp. grated fresh ginger
Cocktail
  • Crushed ice
  • 4 Ounces gin
  • 2 Ounces fresh lemon juice
  • Ice cubes
  • 2 splashes creme de cassis
Garnish
  • 4-6 Driscoll’s Blackberries
  • 2 lemon wedges
Blackberry Simple Syrup
  1. PLACE 1/2 cup blackberries into a small saucepan.
  2. ADD 1/3 cup sugar and 1/3 cup water.
  3. COOK over medium heat 2 minutes or until sugar is dissolved.
  4. MASH with a potato masher until blackberries are broken down.
  5. LET mixture boil for 1 minute.
  6. REMOVE from heat and COVER saucepan and LET REST 5 minutes.
  7. STRAIN mixture through a fine-mesh sieve and PRESS with a rubber spatula or back of a ladle to release juices.
  8. LET blackberry simple syrup COOL completely.
  9. CHILL in refrigerator until needed or up to 2 weeks in a sealed container.
Ginger Juice
  1. PLACE 1 ½ – 2 tablespoons grated fresh ginger into a fine-mesh sieve.
  2. PRESS using a rubber spatula or the back of a ladle to release juices into a small bowl.
  3. SET ASIDE ginger juice until needed.
Cocktail
  1. FILL 2 cocktail glasses with crushed ice and SET ASIDE.
  2. POUR  4 ounces gin into a cocktail shaker.
  3. ADD 2 ounces fresh lemon juice, 2 ounces blackberry simple syrup.
  4. ADD 1 ½ teaspoons ginger juice.
  5. FILL cocktail shaker with ice cubes.
  6. SHAKE vigorously for 20 seconds or until outside of cocktail shaker is frosted.
  7. DIVIDE cocktail between prepared cocktail glasses.
  8. ADD 1 splash creme de cassis to each cocktail.
  9. GARNISH each cocktail with 2 or 3 blackberries.
  10. GARNISH each cocktail with 1 lemon wedge.
  11. SERVE Blackberry Ginger Bramble immediately.
