We’ve been building a better blackberry for over a decade.
It all started 10 years ago, with around 2,500 little seedlings. All different. But all with the potential to produce the ultimate blackberry. The quest continues today, with over 15,000 seedlings grown in Central Mexico.
Just a fraction of 1% of our seedlings make the cut.
This year, Driscoll’s Season’s Finest blackberries are wonderfully sweet, not too tart, incredibly juicy, and amazingly aromatic. In other words, perfect. That’s because only around 1% of Driscoll’s blackberry seedlings make it into “test plots”. Once the best-of-the-best are ready, our scientists test berries from each plant for firmness, shelf life, beauty, and most importantly, flavor.
