About the Opportunity

This is a hands-on internship opportunity in a supply chain role. This internship will focus on developing the proper skills to operate in Distribution and Process Management. Learn how product is handled from field to Cooler/Distribution Center, review the processes utilized to receive, cool, and ship products. Understand how packaging materials are managed and inventoried, and how metrics align with the business operations.

Responsibilities

•    Interface with all areas of operations, quality assurance, accounting, growers as well as external suppliers and customers.  
•    Evaluate current Standard Operating Procedures for accuracy and completeness against on-going practices.
•    Gather and organize information on fruit and packaging inventory discrepancies, processes, and procedures.
•    Analyze data gathered and recommend actions to ensure compliance with developed standards.
•    Assist in deployment of new processes and procedures across distribution network sites.
•    Assist in conducting process reviews and audits of distribution sites.
•    Perform various calculations via excel spreadsheets and company databases. Generate reports and perform data entry.
•    Some travel may be required.

Candidate Profile

•    Be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or Master’s program in a 4 year University
•    Have taken some course work in agriculture, engineering, or supply chain management  
•    High level of proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
•    Strong analytical skills
•    Good communicator
•    Has attention to detail and accuracy
•    Has the ability to take on responsibility and work independently
•    Excellent problem-solving skills
•    Be able to lift 25 lbs
•    Possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to be covered under company-sponsored vehicle insurance program are also required. 
•    Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

The following information is provided in good faith as a general description of the salary range and benefits for the position posted.  The actual compensation offered to the successful candidate is dependent upon experience, skills, education, work location, internal pay equity, and other objective job-related factors.

Salary Range estimated for the Distribution Intern: $18 to $28 USD, hourly.
