Berry Christmas Tree Eggnog French Toast
A perfect Christmas breakfast! Most of the prep is done the night before. In the morning just cook the toast, trim, and create a fun French toast Christmas tree! Stale bread works best for this recipe. Just allow bread slices to sit uncovered for a few hours to dry out.

Ingredients
- 4 large eggs
- 2 Cups purchased eggnog
- 1 Tsp. vanilla extract
- 1/2 Tsp. ground cinnamon
- 6 Slices stale bread, 1-inch thick
- 2 Tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/4 Cup from 1 package (6 ounces) Driscoll's Blackberries
- 1/4 Cup from 1 package (6 ounces) Driscoll's Raspberries
- 1-2 Tbsp. powdered sugar
- 1/8 Tsp. freshly ground nutmeg
Directions
- CRACK 4 large eggs into a medium bowl and WHISK thoroughly.
- ADD 2 cups purchased eggnog.
- ADD 1 teaspoon vanilla extract and ADD 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon.
- WHISK to combine and SET ASIDE egg mixture.
- PLACE 6 slices stale bread into a large, shallow baking dish in a single layer.
- POUR egg mixture over bread slices and FLIP bread slices once to COAT both sides.
- COVER baking dish with plastic wrap and REFRIGERATE overnight.
- PREHEAT a large skillet over medium heat.
- ADD 2 tablespoons unsalted butter and ALLOW butter to melt and SWIRL evenly over bottom of pan.
- FRY bread slices about 2 minutes or until golden brown.
- FLIP bread slices and FRY about 2 minutes until golden brown.
- REMOVE bread slices from skillet.
- CUT OFF bottom corners from bread slices at an angle to FORM v-shapes.
- PLACE bread slices onto a serving platter and CREATE a Christmas tree by LAYERING bread slices v-side upward.
- ARRANGE 4 blackberries at bottom of tree to form a tree trunk.
- ARRANGE 7 raspberries at top of tree to form a star.
- CREATE a garland of berries by alternating raspberries and blackberries around tree.
- SPRINKLE 1 – 2 tablespoons powdered sugar over French toast.
- SPRINKLE 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg over French toast.
- SERVE immediately.
