- 1 1/4 Cups plus 1 teaspoon sugar, divided
- 2 Teaspoons Baking powder
- 1 1/2 Sticks unsalted butter, melted
- 3 Tablespoons Cornstarch
- 4 Packages (6 ounces each) Driscoll's Blackberries
- 
    PREHEAT oven to 350°F.
- 
    PLACE blackberries into a medium bowl.
- 
    ADD ¼ cup sugar.
- 
    ADD cornstarch.
- 
    STIR blackberry mixture gently until berries are evenly coated.
- 
    POUR blackberry mixture into an 8-inch or 9-inch square baking dish.
- 
    SET ASIDE blackberry mixture.
- 
    PLACE flour into a medium bowl.
- 
    ADD 1 cup sugar.
- 
    ADD baking powder.
- 
    WHISK flour mixture until combined.
- 
    ADD melted butter.
- 
    STIR flour mixture with a fork until dough comes together. Do not over-mix.

    GATHER dough together with fingers.

    DIVIDE dough into 9 loose balls.
