At Driscoll's, safety is a core value that we’ve carried through four generations of growing berries.

We know that in a world of headlines, hashtags, and viral videos, it can be hard to know what is true. We take that seriously. When concerns are raised by a customer, a regulator, or a scientific report, our approach is the same: investigate thoroughly, engage transparently with the appropriate health and regulatory authorities, and share what we learn.

We also know trust isn't built through statements alone. It's built through consistency over time. That's why we welcome scrutiny of our practices, cooperate fully with regulatory bodies, and continue to invest in independent testing and third-party verification above and beyond what is required.

That's the whole idea behind Driscoll's: naturally perfected, never artificially engineered, through generations of hands-on expertise in the fields.

That philosophy extends directly into how we grow and handle every single berry:

• Hand-picked at peak, tested with rigor. Our berries are picked at the height of ripeness by people who know exactly what "ready" looks, smells, and feels like. Our testing programs are comprehensive, and include processes like water sampling, residue testing, and environmental monitoring.
• Independent, science-based standards. We hold every facet of our operations and every independent grower to strict food safety requirements that meet regulatory standards set by domestic and international food safety authorities, including our use of pesticides. Every Driscoll’s facility and independent grower are certified by audits such as GlobalG.A.P. and PrimusGFS, programs recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI).
• Full traceability, farm to shelf. Our traceability processes and supply chain records allow us to investigate food safety concerns and act quickly and precisely if any concern is ever identified.
• Pioneering spirit and practices. We believe there is something to learn from every batch of berries. Season after season, we strive to make each batch better than the one before—and less reliant on conventional chemical pesticides. By investing in natural pest control like beneficial insects, our team is constantly working to find ways to go beyond regulatory standards while still bringing delicious, affordable berries to families around the world.
• A culture of transparency and honesty. We continuously invest in training our teams and growers. Food safety is core to our culture and operations and is a responsibility we take very seriously.
