About the Opportunity

The Market Insights team provide the Sales & Marketing department with key insights across a wide range of market trends that drive growth of the fresh berry category and strengthen Driscoll’s brand. As a key member of the Market Research & Category Insights team, you will influence Sales & Marketing Group’s key initiatives through a broad range of data analysis related projects and activities. Primary responsibilities include guidance in the design, development and implementation of market research projects to provide category insights and business recommendations driven by qualitative and quantitative data. In this role, you will gain first-hand exposure to key leaders across multiple functions while achieving the company’s strategic goals and building a profitable and sustainable global enterprise. The Market Insights Analyst provides customer (B2B) and consumer (B2C) insights to critical initiatives that improve Driscoll’s effectiveness in strategic planning, product development, program execution and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Leads assigned and self-identified marketing research projects to address business questions. (e.g. brand health studies, customer trade satisfaction surveys, new product development concept focus groups, etc.)
  • Gives a voice to the Driscoll’s customers and consumers, providing critical feedback to Driscoll’s cross functional groups.
  • Use knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies to consider a variety of approaches and employ the right one to provide solutions against the business requirements.
  • Collaborate with Brand & Product Marketing, Customer Development and other cross functional groups in evaluating key drivers to category growth and strengthen Driscoll’s brand performance.
  • Analyze and share out insights and recommendations that are actionable for the Sales & Marketing department and overall strategy.
  • Analyze data from internal sources to supplement market research insights and support analytics processes that enable growth of berry category.
  • Leverage analytical tools from a variety of syndicated data sources such as IRI, Nielsen, customer POS, and loyalty card data to discern trends, identify customer opportunities and provide business insights.
  • Support of internal scorecards and tracking of core sales & marketing KPIs.
  • Create and document repeatable processes for data analysis and reporting.

Candidate Profile

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of professional experience in Marketing Research, Consumer Insights, Strategy/Management consulting, and/or Analysis. Experience working within a CPG company preferred.
  • Ability to analyze quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Experience in data analytics using scientific programming language or statistical software required.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or R preferred.
  • Familiarity and experience with statistical software packages (e.g. SPSS, Minitab, SAS, etc.) preferred.
  • Familiarity with Tableau and/or other data visualization tools preferred.
  • Seeks continuous improvement, both in self and in work processes.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal communication, presentation skills, and business writing).
  • Able to adapt communication to explain complex information to business stakeholders.
  • Self-starter: understands job responsibilities and manages self to achieve objectives.

  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to present results and solutions.
  • Project management skills - ability to plan, manage and report on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Skilled at conducting quantitative research and analyses (survey design, programming, analysis and reporting) as well as qualitative research and analyses (e.g. question design, synthesizing open-ended responses into themes)
  • Expert in Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis on Excel (Excel, PowerPoint, Word etc.).
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
  • California driver’s license and the ability to be covered under company-sponsored vehicle insurance program.
  • A valid passport and the ability to travel internationally without restrictions.
