About the Opportunity

The Employee Relations Partner is part of the Global People Services (GPS) Functional Specialty team and will serve as the main point of contact for employee relations concerns raised by managers and employees within assigned regions supported by GPS. This role will work with employees and managers by providing coaching and advisory support to people managers and supervisors on progressive discipline, performance management, conflict resolution, and employment risk matters ensuring a consistent and aligned approach when managing employee relations across the business.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main point of contact on all employee relations questions and issues, providing guidance, support and solutions to managers and employees in accordance to country/local regulations and company policies
  • Provide relevant support to managers in areas such as performance management and disciplinary investigations and procedures
  • Participate in, and lead portions of the development and ongoing maintenance of processes and procedures to improve upon the overall operational effectiveness and efficiency of the Employee Relations program and processes
  • Responsible for keeping up to date with federal, state, and local regulations and adjust the Employee Relations program, knowledge and content, and process design as needed to ensure compliance
  • Serves as main point of contact to Master Data Team regarding requested system changes and/or enhancements to continually streamline ER processes in our HR systems
  • Conduct investigations on employee complaints and recommend appropriate resolutions. Escalate high severity issues or matters with legal implications to Legal and provide support on resolution
  • Provide proactive, consultative, and data-based input on ER issues and trends to key stakeholders (including Business HR and the Talent COE) to proactively minimize ER issues for their respective Business Units, Functional Areas, and for the U.S. geography as a whole
  • Conduct data analytics to recommend relevant articles for the U.S. Handbook and ER knowledgebase
  • Collaborate and engage as a key stakeholder with Business HR, Legal, and Talent regarding implementation and communication of company policies, legal and compliance requirements, and talent programs
  • Review and process improvement of employee background verification process
  • Employee support and services
  • Track Employee Relations Program compliance and initiate corrective actions, as indicated in the compliance audits
  • Continuous process improvement of various processes under Employee Relations
  • Act as an advisor to HR leadership and Business leadership on Employee Relations practice in the region

Candidate Profile

Requirements

  • California driver’s license and the ability to be covered under company-sponsored vehicle insurance program
  • In-depth knowledge of US State and Federal labor laws, employment regulations, practices, and compliance including core HR practices, policies, and procedures
  • Resolute in handling confidential/sensitive information
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build trust and influence managers on resolution of Employee Relations issues
  • Strong conflict resolution, negotiating, and facilitation skills
  • Strong written and presentation skills
  • Strong ability to multi-task and handle multiple priorities
  • Strong attention to detail and experience with standardized documentation best practices
  • Demonstrates non-biased, fact-based decision-making
  • Familiarity with HRIS functions, particularly Workday, preferred
  • Exceptional customer service focus
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage work time efficiently
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills; both verbal and written
  • 3-5 years’ experience in managing Employee Relations issues, including conflict resolution, conducting investigations, and coaching managers on resolutions
