Driscoll's organic farmers are certified by California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF) and meet all certification requirements with regular crop rotation, approved organic fertilizers, and natural pest management methods.
Our farmers grow Driscoll's organic berries using time proven natural and traditional cultivation techniques that balance the dynamic biological system of weather, soil, pests and disease pressure.
Driscoll's farmers strive for sustainability by utilizing what we learn from organic production in all of our production systems. Our independent farmers share knowledge, recognizing that sustainability is in everyone's best interest.
Developing Varieties That Are Naturally Resistant to Diseases
Driscoll's continually works to breed berry plants that are naturally more resistant to diseases and pests.
We cross-pollinate berries in a way that is similar to how plants cross-pollinate in nature to develop our superior, proprietary varieties. At Driscoll's, we use the experience we have gained through years of plant breeding and the great genetic base of Driscoll's varieties, to develop berries that will perform better in an organic farming environment.
Our berries are not genetically modified or subjected to irradiation. Driscoll's organic berries meet the same quality and safety standards as our conventional berries.
"Farming organically is not harder. Farming, period, is a hard occupation. Farming organically is different. You have to kind of throw out all the things that you already know and be open to a whole new world of fertility and disease control, pest control, and the land on which you farm."Organic Driscoll's farmer

Since our company was founded, we have been committed to making a difference in the communities where we live and work.
In addition to community-based funding programs, we strive to inspire and empower our employees and independent farmers to make a difference by encouraging, supporting and building upon their commitment of personal time and contributions.

Organic Farming
The USDA National Organics Standards set uniform standards for organic food production and labeling. In order for a product to be labeled organic, it must first be certified by an accredited certifying agency that is licensed by the USDA. Driscoll's organic berries are grown by independent farmers whose growing and handling operations are certified organic by California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF), a USDA-accredited certifying agency.
Driscoll's organic berry farmers meet these requirements with regular crop rotation, approved organic fertilizers, and natural pest management methods, all within the strict organics standards and guidelines established by the USDA.
