Rafael farms conventional and organic raspberries and strawberries. He has been growing berries for Driscoll’s label since 1996, but farming since 1983. Today he has 45 acres each of conventional and organic berry production.

He chooses to grow for Driscoll’s because he believes that this company offers opportunities to learn, grow and try new things. He likes the comfortable family atmosphere.

He and his wife Elvia have been married for 27 years and have a grown daughter who works for Wells Fargo. She does not yet plan to take over the family business.

When he is not farming, Rafael loves to travel and dance. Cancun is a favorite vacation destination.
