Care & Handling

Increase your profitability of strawberries by minimizing waste. Proper care in handling and storage will ensure a higher yield and longer shelf life.

  • Keep them cool. Keeping strawberries chilled is critical to prolonging their shelf life. Cover them loosely and refrigerate at 32° - 34°F.
  • Avoid moisture. Store berries away from moisture, which can cause them to deteriorate. Wash gently with a spray of cool water just before using.
  • Handle with care. Prep strawberries gently. Remove green caps until just before use, with a light twist or with the point of a paring knife.
  • Enhance the natural flavors. Bring strawberries to room temperature before serving.
